Discipleship Huddles
At Renew Communities, we believe that based on scripture, a disciple is someone who follows Jesus, practices the ways of Jesus, and teaches others to do the same. A huddle experience is centered around these three concepts to raise up disciples who make disciples.
What is a Discipleship Huddle?
A Discipleship Huddle is a weekly gathering of 4-8 individuals spanning a 18-week journey to deepen participants' understanding of authentic discipleship in the footsteps of Jesus. Our goal is not merely to cultivate fans of Jesus but to nurture genuine followers.
The objective is to teach participants to hear from and respond to God and assist them to seamlessly incorporate the principles and rhythms Jesus lived by into their day-to-day lives. The goal is to actively engage participants in aligning themselves with the overarching mission that defined Jesus' purpose.
Why Should You Join a Discipleship Huddle?
If you desire spiritual growth that involves a sincere pursuit of hearing from and responding to God and a desire to establish transformational spiritual rhythms that enrich your relationship with Jesus, then huddles are for you.
What's the Commitment?
Weekly Huddle group meetings (60-90 minutes) for 16 weeks
Read 1 chapter of scripture per day for five days per week
1-2 times per week, read a pre-selected article or chapter
Journal what God is saying to you and what you will do about it
Willingness to share with a genuine sense of vulnerability

How do I Get Involved?
Our huddles typically begin after the first of the year and run until late spring. If you are interested in joining a group, you can contact the Pastor of Missional Discipleship, Bethany Solyntjes, and she will connect you with a group leader.
